Nano and Bio-fertilizers to Transform Agriculture: Call to Bring New Technology to Farmers at Gwalior Cooperative Seminar

Gwalior.

A cooperative seminar held in Gwalior placed special emphasis on the widespread use of nano and bio-fertilizers to make agriculture more profitable, sustainable, and eco-friendly. Seventy managers from various cooperative societies in the district participated in the seminar, which was organized at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra under the aegis of IFFCO. Experts highlighted the crucial role of cooperative societies in taking modern agricultural techniques to farmers, noting that the use of nano-fertilizers can significantly boost production while simultaneously reducing farming costs.

**Nano-technology Essential for Soil Conservation and Sustainable Agriculture**

Addressing the seminar, Joint Director of Agriculture, Mr. R.S. Shakyawar, stated that the increased use of nano and bio-fertilizers is the need of the hour for preserving soil health and ensuring sustainable agricultural development. He remarked that cooperative societies could serve as an effective medium to connect farmers with these new technologies.

**Ensuring Advanced Products and New Information Reach Farmers**

Dr. D.K. Solanki, State Marketing Manager (IFFCO, Bhopal), urged cooperative societies to ensure that IFFCO’s advanced agricultural products reach the maximum number of farmers and to expand their operations through effective business planning. He also placed special emphasis on disseminating the technical knowledge gained during the training to the farming community.

**Lower Costs, Higher Production, and Environmental Safety**

Mr. R.K. Maholiya, Regional Manager (IFFCO, Gwalior), stated that products such as Nano Urea, Nano DAP, Nano Zinc, Nano Copper, bio-fertilizers, Sagarika, and Natural Potash could usher in a new revolution in agriculture. Their use would reduce costs for farmers, increase production, and strengthen the conservation of soil, water, and the environment. Experts Emphasize Balanced Fertilizer Use

Dr. S.S. Kushwaha, Head and Senior Scientist at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), advised farmers to adopt bio-fertilizers and nano-fertilizers alongside balanced fertilizer usage. He stated that effective solutions to future challenges are possible only through the adoption of modern agricultural techniques.

Cooperative Societies Should Become Multipurpose Partners for Farmers

Mr. Akhilesh Shukla, Deputy Commissioner (Cooperatives), urged cooperative societies to provide quality agricultural inputs to farmers. Meanwhile, Mr. Himanshu Khade, CEO of the District Cooperative Central Bank, remarked that in changing times, cooperative societies should not limit themselves merely to fertilizer distribution; instead, they should function as multipurpose institutions offering a wide range of services to farmers.
